Happy New Year!
Hope you all had a good one, partying with your family and friends!
But of course, the new year is about more than just partying; it also marks the passage of time and thus the beginning of new stages of our lives. That's why we have new year resolutions and in general try to "fix things up" each New Years holiday. I, for example, would like to fix up the club's profile a bit, but there's one problem: no deviantID.
Do you know what that means, then?
It's time for a
contest!2010 DeviantID Contest</u>
Make a deviantID for the club! Not to many rules, just make sure it's appropriate, follows the club theme and isn't too big to fit on the club profile page.
The deadline is
February 8, 2010. I pick this date because it gives you a good five weeks and is easy for me to remember because it's my birthday. :dinner:
After that club members will vote on which entry is best. First place winner gets to be the Club ID! Second and third place winners...get a hardly thumbs-up.
Sorry, but I can't afford subscriptions and look at my gallery, do you really
want free sketches or something?
I'm thinking I might make this a yearly tradition, with a new deviantID every year. Does that sound like a good idea? Anyway, get started on those submissions, I'm hoping for a good turnout!
In Other News: Group?</u>
I'm considering converting this club (and my others) to the new Group system, but wanted to get your input. On the one hand, groups seem very convenient---you can submit your own artwork, for example, and the Deviantwatch will lead
directly to your version---in other words, no second club-copy that people will fave because they either didn't read the commentary or just didn't care.
On the downside, though, clubs I'm in that have converted to Groups seem to have some problems. What do you think? In particular I would like info from anyone running a Group themselves!
...And for convenience's sake, maybe put off club submissions for after we figure this out.
Happy New Year again everyone, and I hope we all have a good one!
